Happy Birthday Cute Kotori!

Next month will be Cute Kotori's first birthday, so excited about it, can't believe its been a year since a had started doing cute designs and printing them on paper. Cute Kotori started off as a hobby, designing when I have the spare time and selling the occasional card or two. I still remember when I first opened up a Madeit store, it took forever to make my first sale. But one night I was sitting on the couch with my hubby watching tv, I decided to check my emails and found out a customer had brought everything in my store! haha, that sounds like a lot but I only had 3 items in my shop at the time. I was over the moon!! couldn't believe someone else out there would love my designs enough to pay money to own one of my items

One year on, you can find Cute Kotori items on Madeit, Etsy, Ebay, on Facebook and more!! I have lots of plans for Cute Kotori, stay tuned for this years Christmas Cards.

Meanwhile, please join us celebrating this huge event! It will be Cute Kotori's birthday on 08/09/2013 but you get all the presents! We are giving away a $30 gift voucher to spend at Cute Kotori's Madeit store. For your chance to win, simply purchase any item in the Madeit store between 17/08/2013 until 07/09/2013 or 'like' the this post on Cute Kotori's Facebook page. Winner will be selected at random and announced on 07/09/2013

See you next time!

What a month! Cute Kotori had its first markets in Canberra and NSW. It was a bit scary at the first market 'The Boutique Markets / The Mathilda's Markets' at Albert Hall as I didn't know what to expect. We got there a bit late to set up but my hubby was there to help me bring in the boxes so all I needed to concentrate on was to set up my pretty stall. It was a smallish market but had a fun time :)

Second market we went to was The Muddi Boutique Markets in Wagga Wagga NSW. I felt so unorganised this time around for the markets, but everything turned quite well. Most people came by pretty early, around 10:30am was the busiest times :)

Lastly, was The Braidwood Maker's Markets at the National Theatre in Braidwood. What a cute little town, very friendly people! The market had a great atmosphere to it, live music most of the day, warm food and drinks, had a great time even though I had to travel there from Canberra :) well worth it!

Now.... a few months off I say! I am planning to apply for the Handmade Markets at the National Convention Centre in October 2013. Quite nervous about it actually, its quite a big market, there's over 100 stalls there and its for two full days over a weekend!

until next time,

Annie

Check out more Cute Kotori design Christmas Cards, all cards available in my MadeIt store

I love bird designs, and hence the name of my shop Cute Kotori. Kotori means little bird in Japanese. I thought it will be fun to have little bird sitting on the bunting. I must say, designs featuring buntings have been quite popular lately, hope you all like 'Happy Bunting Christmas'

Wedding Invitations

For the past few days, I have started working on some wedding invite projects for my portfolio.

This set of invites are very simple but pretty with flowers that resembles little butterflies. The graphics and text on this invite sample are printed in black on Lexel acid free Antique Bright White 300gsm cardstock. Hope you like it!

Save the Date card
Save the date cards are usually sent out way before the wedding event, so then guests can keep that day free to attend your wedding. These are great especially if you are inviting guests from overseas who will need to know in advance so they can book flights, hotels etc... Also great if you have a destination wedding where most of the guest would need to book accomodation in advance

I think a menu card at the wedding reception is great, it lets your guests know what food they will have to look forward to and also if you have a dry till, additional information can be added so your guests know what drinks they could order that will be included in the dry till. I have been to several weddings where they did not have this information provided to guests, I ended up buying our own drinks on the night

Thank you card are important, its a great way to thank your guests taking a day to spend the day celebrating with you. I also included a cute little thank you gift tag for attaching to any thank you gift you may have for you guests

I enjoyed designing the invites, they printed out so beautifully. If I were to have my wedding invites done again, I will definitely think about using these ones, so simple yet pretty and very elegant, great for a black and white wedding.
