I love bird designs, and hence the name of my shop Cute Kotori. Kotori means little bird in Japanese. I thought it will be fun to have little bird sitting on the bunting. I must say, designs featuring buntings have been quite popular lately, hope you all like 'Happy Bunting Christmas'

Wedding Invitations

For the past few days, I have started working on some wedding invite projects for my portfolio.

This set of invites are very simple but pretty with flowers that resembles little butterflies. The graphics and text on this invite sample are printed in black on Lexel acid free Antique Bright White 300gsm cardstock. Hope you like it!

Save the Date card
Save the date cards are usually sent out way before the wedding event, so then guests can keep that day free to attend your wedding. These are great especially if you are inviting guests from overseas who will need to know in advance so they can book flights, hotels etc... Also great if you have a destination wedding where most of the guest would need to book accomodation in advance

I think a menu card at the wedding reception is great, it lets your guests know what food they will have to look forward to and also if you have a dry till, additional information can be added so your guests know what drinks they could order that will be included in the dry till. I have been to several weddings where they did not have this information provided to guests, I ended up buying our own drinks on the night

Thank you card are important, its a great way to thank your guests taking a day to spend the day celebrating with you. I also included a cute little thank you gift tag for attaching to any thank you gift you may have for you guests

I enjoyed designing the invites, they printed out so beautifully. If I were to have my wedding invites done again, I will definitely think about using these ones, so simple yet pretty and very elegant, great for a black and white wedding.

The Gum Bears Card Series

The Gum Bears - 'Cute Celebrations'

Any message can be printed in the speech bubble. An examples include 'Happy Birthday' as shown

Based off the Gum Bears fabric design, I have created a series of paper goods, such as birthday cards, all occasion cards, gift or note cards. I had fun creating each design. Above is a photo of The Gum Bears Happy Birthday Card. Inside the card is a single row of the cute Gum Bears. I don't know how I came up with the name, perhaps they are so cutely fat and squishy that they remind me of gummy bears, haha. Hope you all like them :) Rememnber to check out my Madeit store!

I wanted to give the Gum Bears series a fresh and simple look. Those cute little bears are so cute that I want to make them stand out by only using simple designs that wouldn't take the attention away from the Gum Bears. Designs are based on simple brown coloured bears on crisp white cardstock, either in smooth white or linen white cardstock. Colours incorporated are fresh light colours of mint green and sky blue, which goes nicely with the woody brown of the Gum Bears.

The Gum Bears - Cute Mori

This is actually a fabric pattern I am working on. But decided to turn it into a card too.
I am still working on the fabric pattern but hopefully will release it on the Spoonflower website soon ;)

The Gum Bears - Cute Hana

I love Japanese designs, so I created this blossom tree to go with the Gum Bears design.

Inside of The Gum Bears - Cute Romance
I orginally designed this card for a friend of mine who recently got engaged, which I had Happy Engagement printed at the front with the two cute bears. I thought it would be nice to use this design for a 'Happy Valentines Days' or 'I love you' card for that special someone. The Gum Bears are just so adorable

Christmas is coming up soon, I am hoping to have some Christmas Card designs based on the Gum Bears soon ;)

The Gum Bears Notecards

A row of cute Gum Bears printed on beautiful 270gsm white textured cardstock, each card is approx. 6cm (2.4 inches) x 9cm (3.5inches), perfect as giftcard or notecard for someone special. Here is the to my Madeit store if you are interested in owning your own GumBears notecard.

I am planning to design more notecards soon :)

I absolutely love note cards, I have heaps of them that I brought from Janetstore. I use them to write short messages for loved ones and always have used it as a gift card to put on birthday presents for friends and family, it just gives it that special touch.

21st Birthday Invites

I was so excited when my sister-in-law asked if I could make her invites for her 21st Birthday. She told me she liked the flower petal design I created for my house warming party and would like black as the base colour. To create an invite with a simple but elegant feel, I picked Metallic Lustre as my second colour to go with the matt black. As you all know, its a bit hard to print light text on black paper on printer, so I had decided to do hand calligraphy for the writing with metallic silver ink. Although it took more time than just printing the invite off from a prnter, I had lots of fun with the calligraphy, don't you think it gives the invite a more personal touch? Finally I designed a little initials motif for the invite, which consists of a beautiful swarvoski crystal between the initials. The invites are enclosed within the flower petal envelope and sealed with beautiful swarvoski crystal.

I kept all the invites in a brown cardboard box
